1. Data We Collect
Account information
- Email address — used to sign in, receive receipts, and send account-related notifications.
- Full name — used to personalise your experience and identify your account.
- Password — stored only as an irreversible cryptographic hash (bcrypt). We never see or store your plain-text password.
- Golfer profile — sex, age, country, self-declared golf level (handicap or skill), and dominant hand (left/right). This is used solely to make the AI diagnosis and improvement plan more accurate.
Content you upload
- Swing videos — the video clips you upload for analysis.
- Diagnosis results — the AI-generated diagnosis, recommended fixes, and improvement plan produced from your swings.
- Any notes or feedback you submit inside the app.
Usage & technical data
- Anonymous product analytics (page views, feature use, screen navigation) via PostHog.
- Device type, operating system, browser type, and approximate IP-based location, for security and reliability.
- Crash and error diagnostics — automatically captured only when something breaks, to help us fix it.
Payment data
The Service is free to use — no payment method is collected or stored.
2. Why We Collect It
- To create and secure your account.
- To analyse your swing videos and generate diagnoses and improvement plans.
- To personalise recommendations to your handedness, skill level and profile.
- To send you essential service emails (account notifications, security alerts).
- To improve the app: fix bugs, measure feature performance, and prioritise what to build next.
- To comply with legal obligations.
3. Third Parties We Use
We keep the list of third parties short and only use providers with a strong track record on privacy and security:
- Zoho Mail — transactional and support email delivery (notifications, replies to support@themulliganapp.golf).
- MongoDB Atlas — encrypted database hosting for your account, profile, and diagnosis records.
- Cloud storage — your swing videos are stored on encrypted object storage with access limited to the analysis pipeline.
- PostHog — anonymous product analytics. We do not send your email, password, videos or diagnosis text to PostHog.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your swing videos or diagnosis results with advertisers or data brokers.
4. Data Retention
- Account & profile data — kept while your account is active.
- Swing videos — kept while your account is active so you can revisit past analyses. You can delete individual videos from your history at any time.
- Diagnosis and stats history — kept while your account is active to power your personalised improvement plan.
- Analytics events — kept for up to 12 months, then aggregated or deleted.
5. Deleting Your Account
Email us at support@themulliganapp.golf with the subject line "Delete my account", from the email address associated with your account.
We will delete your account, profile, swing videos and diagnosis history within 30 days. Payment records may be retained for legal and accounting reasons as described above. We will confirm the deletion by email once complete.
6. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate personal data.
- Request deletion of your account and personal data.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Receive a copy of your data in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent for optional processing at any time.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

7. Security
We use industry-standard encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest, hash passwords with bcrypt, restrict internal access on a need-to-know basis, and log administrative actions. No online service can guarantee 100% security, but we take our responsibility to protect your data seriously.
8. Children
TheMulliganApp™ is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. International Users
Your data may be processed on servers located outside your country of residence. Where required, we use standard contractual clauses and equivalent safeguards to ensure your data is protected to the same standard.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email or in-app notice.
